THIRD QUARTER DISTRIBUTION OF SUPPORT ITEMS TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES HELD IN KRACHI EAST.

The Krachi East Municipal Assembly on Thursday, 27th August 2026, organized its third-quarter distribution of support items to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Municipality as part of efforts to promote social inclusion, improve livelihoods, and empower beneficiaries to become economically self-reliant.

The exercise saw selected beneficiaries receive various items and financial assistance based on their individual needs and livelihood activities. Items distributed included sets of plastic chairs, deep freezers, roofing sheets, farm tools, industrial sewing machines, cassava-grinding machines, pepper-grinding machines, as well as cash support.

The intervention is expected to enable beneficiaries to establish or expand their businesses, improve their income-generating activities, and enhance their socio-economic well-being. The farm tools and grinding machines are expected to support beneficiaries engaged in agriculture and agro-processing, while the industrial sewing machines and deep freezers will provide opportunities for beneficiaries to strengthen their entrepreneurial activities.

Present at the distribution ceremony were the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Safo Nketiah; Member of Parliament for Krachi East Constituency, Hon. Nelson Kofi Djabab; Nananom; the Regional President of Persons with Disabilities; Heads of Departments and Units of the Municipal Assembly; members of the media; and family members of the beneficiaries.

The dignitaries and stakeholders commended the initiative and emphasized the need for beneficiaries to put the items and financial assistance to productive use to improve their livelihoods and living conditions.

The exercise forms part of the Municipal Assembly’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and creating opportunities for Persons with Disabilities to participate meaningfully in the socio-economic development of the Municipality.

The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Municipal Assembly and other stakeholders for the support and called for the continuation of such interventions to enable more Persons with Disabilities to benefit.
