SOCIAL SERVICES SUB-COMMITTEE HOLDS MEETING AT KEMA

The Social Services Sub-Committee of the Krachi East Municipality has held a meeting at KEMA to deliberate on key social intervention and infrastructure issues affecting the municipality.

The meeting was attended by the NHIS Manager, Municipal Education Director, ECG Manager, MIS Officer, Hon. Assembly Members, the Municipal Social Welfare Director, and the District Manager.

LEAP Reassessment Exercise Ongoing

The Municipal Social Welfare Director briefed the committee on the ongoing Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) reassessment exercise across various communities within the municipality.

The reassessment is aimed at validating beneficiary data, ensuring that only eligible households continue to benefit from the programme, and identifying newly vulnerable households that may qualify for support. The Director indicated that the exercise is progressing steadily and called for community cooperation to ensure its success.

Low Electricity Current in Dambai

The ECG Manager also addressed the committee on the persistent low electricity current situation in Dambai.

The low voltage challenge has affected households, businesses, and public institutions, leading to disruptions in economic and social activities. The ECG Manager assured members that the issue has been escalated to the appropriate authorities and that efforts are underway to resolve the situation and stabilize power supply.

Commitment to Service Delivery

The Social Services Sub-Committee reaffirmed its commitment to improving social welfare services and addressing infrastructure challenges within the Krachi East Municipality. Members emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to enhance development and improve the living conditions of residents.
