GLOBAL HAND WASHING DAY CELEBRATED AT BANKA JHS, KEMA

Global hand washing day was celebrated at Banka Junior High School in Dambai, Oti region. Miss Patience Denteh spoke on behalf of the Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit on how children must keep their hands clean by washing them thoroughly with soap under running water after playing or visiting the washroom. She again demonstrated how to wash your hands with soap and clean running water from the tap then cleaning them with a tissue or a napkin. Mr. Joseph Dah added, the human hand is a reservoir for germs. It serves as harborage and means of transmission of organisms likely to cause diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera, amoebic dysentery, typhoid fever, poliomyelitis, hepatitis A, worm infestation, COVID 19, Ebola and among others. The most effective and efficient way to prevent this death sentence (fatal) diseases is by properly washing your hands with soap under running water. Please, let us cultivate the habit of washing hands as and when necessary.
