H.E. Lordina Mahama Inaugurates Asukwakwa Maternity Block Funded by Lordina Foundation

Asukwakwa, Ghana – Her Excellency Lordina Mahama has officially inaugurated a newly constructed maternity block at Asukwakwa, funded by the Lordina Foundation, as part of ongoing efforts to improve maternal and child healthcare delivery.

The maternity block is expected to significantly enhance access to quality prenatal, delivery, and postnatal services for women in Asukwakwa and surrounding communities. The facility is equipped to provide a safer and more supportive environment for mothers and newborns, contributing to the reduction of maternal and infant mortality.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Regional Minister, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MCEs), traditional leaders (Nananom), members of the media, and students.

In her address, H.E. Lordina Mahama reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, particularly in the area of maternal and child health. She emphasized the importance of partnerships between government, traditional authorities, and civil society in strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the country.

The Minister of Health commended the Lordina Foundation for its intervention, noting that investments in maternal healthcare facilities are crucial to improving health outcomes nationwide.

Community leaders expressed appreciation for the project, describing the maternity block as a timely and transformative addition that will bring lasting benefits to families in the area.
