THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR CIVIC EDUCATION KRACHI EAST BRANCH, ORGANISED A STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON 17TH FEBRUARY,2021 TO EDUCATE STAKEHOLDERS ON THE COVID 19 VACCINATION.

Following the fears and false alarm about receiving the COVID-19 vaccination, The Krachi East branch of the NCCE took the education of the COVID 19 Vaccination to the people of the Krachi East Municipality.

Mr. Clement Kwesi Mamadu, The Krachi East Municipal Director of the NCCE at the event said that the Commission with the aid of the information van, has commenced series of broadcasts at the market centres and principal streets with the main aim of killing the misinformation surrounding the vaccination.

In addition, He said that the commission in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service have packaged evidence-based information on the covid 19 vaccine that would help stop the false rumours about the vaccine.

He added up that, humans’ lives would be protected against the virus once we get vaccinated and keep adhering to the COVID-19 protocols (i.e, washing of hands with soap and running water, sanitizing our hands regularly and observing social distance.

Mr. Mamadu, advised that people with specific allergies must consult health personnel before taking the vaccine. Children under 18 and pregnant women are excluded.

In the meeting, the Municipal police commander, Superintendent Samuel Aboagye entreated citizens and stakeholders to adhere to the COVID 19 protocols for their safety and from being prosecuted.

Finally, leaders of the Local Council of Churches as well as dressmakers, hairdressers and members of Commercial Motor Riders Associations according to Madam Sahadatu Salifu (Programmes Officer of the NCCE) were met to sensitize them on the need for observing the safety protocols.

The event successfully came to an end with the NCCE Director reassuring the people of the municipality not to fear in taking the vaccine and also condemned the false remours surrounding the vaccination.
