The First Lady of the Republic, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo commissions a library at the Dambai Lapaz community school in the Capital of the Oti Region-Dambai

The First Lady of the Republic, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo commissions a library at the Dambai Lapaz community school in the Capital of the Oti Region-Dambai in the Krachi East Municipality under Her Charity Organisation ‘The Rebecca Foundation’.

The library is well Stocked with books that cut across all subjects. In addition are computers and internet connectivity to enhance research by the users which include students and teachers.

The facility, which is the seventh to be constructed by the foundation across the country, is an initiative of the President’s wife to improve literacy among school children.

Mr. Richard Darko, Press aide to the First Lady who came and commissioned the project on behalf of the First lady said that, the intervention was in line with Mrs. Akufo-Addo’s passion to empower young people through education, in order for them to fully attain their potentials and harness the opportunities that are available globally. He advised students at the Krachi East Municipality to take full advantage of the facility to enhance their academic works.

The Oti Regional Minister, Hon. Joshua Makubu, expressed his profound gratitude and hoped that the facility will significantly help improve the academic performance of students in the Municipality for them to be able to climb high in their educational career.

In the event was The Krachi East Municipal Director of Education, Madam Georgina Mensah. She expressed her gratitude to the First Lady and Her Foundation for the intervention, and noted that, the facility has come at a perfect time where students have more time on their own to study. She urged students in the Municipality to make good use of the facility to enrich their knowledge.

Some teachers and students who were present at the event were also very happy for the intervention and expressed their profound gratitude to the First Lady. They hope that the facility will help improve academic performance amongst students in the Municipality.
